Softball Recap: Presentation Wins Going Away Against Central

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Portland Christian, Presentation was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Central Yellow Jackets 20-3. The game marked the Toppers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Joanna Logsdon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI.

In other batting news, Khylie Malone was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kristianna Williams, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

Presentation always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .793. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Presentation pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Central, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Presentation will be playing in front of their home fans against DuPont Manual at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Crimsons' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Toppers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Central, they will head out on the road to take on Valley on Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
