Basketball Game Preview: Syracuse Rockets vs. Milford Eagles

The Syracuse Rockets will head out to face off against the Milford Eagles at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Syracuse is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past Conestoga with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 71-57.

Meanwhile, Milford entered their tilt with Boys Town on Saturday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They skirted past the Cowboys 55-52.

Syracuse better keep an eye on Colby Rautenberg. He was instrumental in Milford's win, dropping a double-double with ten points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Rautenberg a new career-high in assists (four). Zeb Reil was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Milford's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Syracuse, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.

Syracuse was able to grind out a solid victory over Milford in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 56-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Syracuse since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
