Softball Recap: DeKalb Barbs vs. Stillman Valley Cardinals

DeKalb's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Stillman Valley Cardinals. While the Barbs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Cassidy Cavazos made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Cavazos was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.
