Basketball Game Preview: Decatur Community Red Devils vs. Wallace County Wildcats

The Decatur Community Red Devils will square off against the Wallace County Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 72-41, which was the final score in Decatur Community's tilt against Hoxie on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Indians are ranked seventh).

Meanwhile, Wallace County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 63-26 defeat at the hands of Greeley County. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-11.

Wallace County's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Decatur Community, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.

Decatur Community might still be hurting after the 50-25 loss they got from Wallace County when the teams last played back in January of 2025. Thankfully for the Red Devils, Jaelyn Daily (who went 6-for-12 to rack up 15 points along with eight rebounds and five assists) won't be suiting up this time.
