Basketball Recap: Nuri Hakim's Big Game Can't Quite Lead King over Leto

King was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They lost 73-53 to the Leto Falcons. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 67-63 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

King lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Nuri Hakim, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 21 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Those 21 points gave Hakim a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Malik Hammond, who went 5 of 8 en route to 13 points and three steals.

King's defeat dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Leto, their win bumped their record up to 6-15.

King has already played their next contest, a 70-65 victory against Jefferson on the 28th. As for Leto, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-47 loss against Wharton on the 27th.
