Football Recap: Schenectady Comes Up Short

Schenectady extended their losing streak to eight on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-8. They took a blow against the Saratoga Springs Blue Streaks, falling 41-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 48-14 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

As for Saratoga Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. That 41 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

It was another big night for Benjamin Coryea, who rushed for 218 yards and five TDs on only 13 carries. Those five rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

Schenectady does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Saratoga Springs, they will take on Shenendehowa at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. The Blue Streaks will need to watch out since the Plainsmen have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
