Basketball Recap: Mason Medley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Burns over Sundance

Burns was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Sundance Bulldogs, falling 66-40. The Broncs were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Burns' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Medley, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 10 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. With that strong performance, Medley is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter D Munson, who posted seven points and three steals.

Burns' loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Sundance, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Burns wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 70-52 victory against Tongue River on the 10th. As for Sundance, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-57 defeat against Pine Bluffs on the 10th.
