Basketball Recap: Marion County Comes Up Short

Marion County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the Glenwood Gators.

Glenwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bobbi Taylor Breazeale, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mimi Johnson, who posted 12 points in addition to six steals and four blocks.

Marion County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Glenwood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-4.

Marion County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 71-65 win against Pigeon Forge on the 20th. As for Glenwood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-15 loss against Franklin County on the 20th.
