Football Recap: Charlotte Piles Up the Points Against North Port

Charlotte got themselves on the board against North Port on Friday, but North Port never followed suit. They took their game with ease, bagging a 48-0 win over the Bobcats. Given the Fightin' Tarpons' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Bobcats are ranked 441st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Charlotte, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jackson Hay, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

The victory got Charlotte back to even at 1-1. As for North Port, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After each having a week off, Charlotte and North Miami Beach will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on the 12th. As for North Port, they will face off against Sarasota at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
