Volleyball Game Preview: Boyertown Bears vs. Upper Merion Area Vikings

The Boyertown Bears will face off against the Upper Merion Area Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

On Wednesday, Boyertown came up short against North Penn and fell 3-1. While the Bears didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Knights 25-10 in the first set.

Boyertown started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 10-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Upper Merion Area had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against Perkiomen Valley. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Upper Merion Area has posted since September 2nd.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (105-99) Upper Merion Area actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-23, 15-25, 19-25, 15-11.

Boyertown's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Upper Merion Area, their win bumped their record up to 11-8-1.
