Baseball Recap: Kingsford Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Kingsford won the last time they faced Escanaba and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Flivvers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Eskymos 4-3.

Garrett Brown and Gavin Grondin made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Brown pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Grondin tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Brown has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Brown went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI, while Grondin went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was Grondin's first of the season.

In other batting news, Gavin Trevillian was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those RBI were his first of the season.

Kingsford's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-4. As for Escanaba, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Looking ahead, Kingsford will challenge Gladstone at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Escanaba, they will face off against Negaunee at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
