Basketball Recap: Lackey Comes Up Short

Lackey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Huntingtown Hurricanes, falling 59-35. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 274th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 64th).

Lackey's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Huntingtown, they pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, Lackey won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Calvert at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lackey has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Huntingtown, they will face off against Chopticon at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
