Baseball Recap: Monroe Bearcats vs. Edmonds-Woodway Warriors

Monroe had lost four straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 8-13 to make it five. They fell 5-2 to the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-1 back in April.

As for Edmonds-Woodway, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 16-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games.

For Edmonds-Woodway's part, the team relied heavily on Toshi Gilginas, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave Gilginas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andreas Simonsen, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
