Baseball Recap: Junction City Falls Short Against Ranked Marist

Junction City faced Marist in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Tigers fell 11-6 to the Spartans. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Tigers, who until this game were averaging four runs allowed.

Junction City saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dane Gibson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Junction City moved to 8-3 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Marist, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
