Baseball Recap: Groton School Triumphs

Groton School took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Cushing Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Groton School had just enough and edged out Cushing Academy 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Groton School has posted since May 11, 2024.

Yuri Tanaka was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Wesley DiModica, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Groton School's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Cushing Academy, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Groton School will face off against Thayer Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cushing Academy, they will head out to face off against Deerfield Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
