Westside had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Brookland Bearcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since April 11, 2024.

Mckyna Craig spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Westside saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kimber Wynn, who went 3-for-4 with one run. Those three hits gave Wynn a new career-high. Vada Watkins was another, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

Westside pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Brookland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westside will square off against Tuckerman at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Brookland, they will face off against Salem at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
