Softball Recap: Davies Career & Tech Sets Scoring Season-High Against Mt. Hope

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Davies Career & Tech). They walked away with an 11-7 win over the Mt. Hope Huskies on Friday. That's two games straight that the Patriots have won by exactly four runs.

Gabriella Fisher made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI and one double. Those RBI were her first of the season.

In other batting news, Kylie Robert was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Brooke Barnes was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.

Davies Career & Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mt. Hope only posted an OBP of .361.

The victory made it two in a row for Davies Career & Tech and bumps their season record up to 2-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Mt. Hope, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Davies Career & Tech will head out to take on Shea at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mt. Hope, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Toll Gate at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
