Future Alabama, LSU, Ohio State and USC signal callers among players featured.

Earlier this summer, we kicked off our preview of the 2024 high school football season with the preseason MaxPreps Top 25, expanded top 100, best team in each state and best player in each state. Next, we zone in on the players by position starting with the quarterbacks.

Underwood enters his senior year needing 1,637 passing yards to break Jason Fracassa's career state record of 10,615 yards. The five-star quarterback is the top-rated player in the Class of 2025. He was a first team selection on the 2023 MaxPreps Junior All-America squad and named the MaxPreps Freshman and Sophomore Player of the Year in 2021 and 2022.

Lewis announced he was reclassifying to the Class of 2025 in January and was named the MaxPreps Freshman and Sophomore of the Year in 2022 and 2023. The future Trojan has thrown for 7,212 yards and 96 touchdowns.

Russell put on a show at the Elite 11 Finals in June and was named MVP. He joined a prestigious group of past winners that includes Matthew Stafford, C.J. Stroud, Tua Tagovailoa, Caleb Williams and Jameis Winston.

In total, seven of the 10 quarterbacks will be seniors, while the remaining three are in the Class of 2026.

California had the most selections with three followed by Georgia at two. Michigan, Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee and Texas all had one.
