Volleyball Recap: Northwestern's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Northwestern had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Spooner Rails. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rails, too.

The victory didn't come easy: Spooner scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-23, 15-25, 25-22.

Shelby Hessel paced Northwestern's offense, picking up 19 kills. Hessel got some help from Finley Peterson and her 25 assists. Peterson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Northwestern's win bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Spooner, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 15 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Northwestern is set to take on their familiar foe Cameron at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Spooner will face off against rival Hayward at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
