Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Pen Argyl

Pen Argyl waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Palmerton Blue Bombers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in August.

Pen Argyl wouldn't go down easily and took Palmerton into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-23, 24-26, 22-25, 15-12.

Pen Argyl found their leader in sophomore Emily McHale, who had 19 digs. Orianna Santiago also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Pen Argyl was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in eight consecutive matchups.

Pen Argyl now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Palmerton, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Pen Argyl didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Saucon Valley on the 27th. As for Palmerton, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Marian Catholic on the 27th.
