The Christian Academy Eagles will face off against the Temple Christian Tigers at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Christian Academy is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
On Thursday, Christian Academy didn't have quite enough to beat CHESS Christian and fell 3-2. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Royals 25-21 in the first set.
Christian Academy wouldn't go down easily and took CHESS Christian into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-22, 25-21, 22-25, 15-13.
High Street Christian Academy came into Friday's match looking for another win against Temple Christian, but Madelyn Brown wouldn't allow it. The Tigers had just enough and edged out High Street Christian Academy 3-2 for which the team can thank Brown, who had five aces and four assists. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.
Temple Christian was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (103-86), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 12-25, 9-25, 25-22, 25-22, 15-9.
Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Temple Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Christian Academy has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 16 aces per game.
