Softball Game Preview: Zion Chapel Rebels vs. Horseshoe Bend Generals

The Zion Chapel Rebels are taking a road trip to face off against the Horseshoe Bend Generals at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. Zion Chapel's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Horseshoe Bend's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Zion Chapel is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Blacksher a 10-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Rebels considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Meanwhile, Horseshoe Bend came tearing into Tuesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 6-2. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 8th, but that streak is no more.

Horseshoe Bend's win bumped their record up to 25-8-1. As for Zion Chapel, they now have a winning record of 17-16.

Zion Chapel came up short against Horseshoe Bend in their previous matchup back in April of 2017, falling 5-0. Can the Rebels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
