Football Recap: Palacios Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Palacios was feeling good fresh off their 55-0 takedown of Danbury two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sharks took an 18-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Oso Bears on Friday. The Sharks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Palacios lost, don't look at Alex Weaver. Despite the final result, he rushed for 142 yards and one score. With that strong performance, Weaver is now averaging an impressive 108.8 rushing yards per game.

Ryan Guerrero looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 115 yards while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.

Palacios' defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for West Oso, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Palacios and West Oso could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Sharks (ranked 932nd) will meet Goliad (ranked 386th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, West Oso will square off against Orange Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (953 vs. 435).
