The Asotin Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Freeman Scotties at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Asotin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.

Asotin took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Colfax as they made off with a 10-3 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

CODY ELLS was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out 13 batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Asotin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Colfax only posted an OBP of .323.

Meanwhile, Freeman suffered their biggest loss since March 28th on Wednesday. They came up short against Medical Lake, falling 11-1.

Asotin's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Freeman, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

Everything went Asotin's way against Freeman when the teams last played back in March, as Asotin made off with a 7-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
