Virgin Valley had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Mater Academy East Las Vegas Knights on Friday as the Virgin Valley Bulldogs made off with a 62-41 victory. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 20 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Virgin Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mady Wright out in front who went 6-for-12 en route to 18 points and three steals. Wright has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Waite, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 11 points in addition to eight assists and six rebounds.

Virgin Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. They are 23-4 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Despite the loss, Mater Academy East Las Vegas saw an underclassman step up: freshman Amija Macon posted 20 points along with five boards and five steals. Victoria Rubio-White was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

Virgin Valley pushed their record up to 24-7 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.8 points. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-7.

Virgin Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-52 win against Fernley on the 20th. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, they have also already played their next game, a 48-43 victory against Churchill County on the 20th.
