Basketball Recap: Camden County Takes a Loss

Camden County played a tough matchup on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 63-42 to the Northeastern Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 380th, while the Eagles are ranked 108th).

Tyell Saunders was his usual excellent self, putting up 26 points for Northeastern. The team also got some help courtesy of Eleck Sutton, who posted 12 points and eight rebounds.

Camden County's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Northeastern, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.

Camden County will head out on the road to square off against First Flight at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Northeastern, they will host Hertford County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northeastern is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 69.7 points per game this season.
