River Valley snaps six-game streak of losses on the road

Recap: River Valley Blackhawks vs. Richland Center Hornets

The River Valley Blackhawks had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Richland Center with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 53-36. The win was just what River Valley needed coming off of a 54-29 defeat in their prior game.

River Valley found their leader in underclassman Brooklyn Stokes, who scored 17 points along with eight steals. Stokes continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Deviney, who scored 12 points.

River Valley's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-12. As for Richland Center, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-15.

River Valley will take on Potosi/Cassville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wisconsin (Potosi/Cassville is ranked 395th, while River Valley is ranked 413th). As for Richland Center, they will head out on the road to take on Platteville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
