Basketball Recap: Wiregrass Ranch Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Wiregrass Ranch had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 44-31 win over the Berkeley Prep Buccaneers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 51-48 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wiregrass Ranch to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marley Campbell, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. Those 17 points gave Campbell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tennae Cabral, who went 5 for 8 to rack up 12 points and seven boards.

Wiregrass Ranch was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Berkeley Prep only racked up seven assists.

Despite the loss, Berkeley Prep still got an impressive performance from Molly Taylor, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds. Taylor also grabbed six steals, which is notable because Berkeley Prep is 4-1 when she posts at least five steals, but 3-12 otherwise.

Wiregrass Ranch's record is now 12-9. As for Berkeley Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Wiregrass Ranch has already played their next contest, a 26-24 victory against Land O' Lakes on the 4th. As for Berkeley Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 73-35 loss against Lakewood on the 4th.
