Basketball Recap: Power Center Academy Knights vs. Millington Central Trojans

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Power Center Academy can now relate to. They were beaten by the Millington Central Trojans 64-33 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 366th, while the Trojans are ranked 167th).

Ayanna Ransom had an outrageously good game for Millington Central as she dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten boards. What's more, Ransom racked up six steals, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Arianna Whiten, who posted ten points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Power Center Academy dropped their record down to 3-15 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Millington Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season.
