The Owyhee Storm will venture away from home to take on the Borah Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Owyhee will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Owyhee is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Capital, who was ranked 14th at the time (Owyhee was ranked first). The Storm never let the Golden Eagles get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Storm, who have now won 12 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

McKenna Schab was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Alaina Bryant was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI.

Owyhee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Capital only posted an OBP of .222.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Borah). They blew past Ridgevue 26-14 on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Josie Gregory was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched. Gregory was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her six plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Reese Naylor and Anna Hedt did most of the damage at the plate: Naylor went 4-for-6 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles, while Hedt went 4-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Maggie McMullen, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Owyhee's win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Borah, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-16.

Owyhee's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Storm have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Borah, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Owyhee continue to outrun the ball?

Owyhee couldn't quite get it done against Borah in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 12-8. Can the Storm avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
