Manheim Central is 9-1 against Cocalico since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Barons will venture away from home to square off against the Eagles at 4:15 p.m. Manheim Central's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Cocalico's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Manheim Central came out on top against J.P. McCaskey on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run seventh inning. The Barons put the hurt on the Tornados with a sharp 13-2 victory. The matchup marked the Barons' most dominant win of the season so far.
Clint Groff was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Tyler Grimm, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Manheim Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as J.P. McCaskey only posted an OBP of .321.
Meanwhile, Cocalico came up short against Eastern Lebanon County on Wednesday and fell 9-4. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Logan Horning put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Horning was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Horning wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Davis, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Owen Hoffert also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.
Manheim Central is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Cocalico, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Manheim Central got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Cocalico by a conclusive 10-1 score. Will the Barons repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
