Softball Recap: Hereford Takes a Loss

If Hereford was riding high fresh off their 12-5 takedown of El Paso on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hereford Whitefaces fell just short of the Del Valle Conquistadores by a score of 4-3 on Saturday. The Whitefaces were not able to make up for their loss to the Conquistadores from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Jaelyn Garza was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Garza was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Garza wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alizae Casarez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Hereford now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Del Valle, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4-1.

Looking ahead, Hereford will face off against El Dorado at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Del Valle, they will square off against Randall at 4:10 p.m. on Saturday. Randall will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Del Valle surely won't give up without a fight.
