Volleyball Recap: Buffalo Falls Short of Charleston Catholic in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Buffalo can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Charleston Catholic Irish on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Irish this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

While Buffalo was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Charleston Catholic's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-11, 26-24.

Charleston Catholic found their leader in sophomore Ali Wilcox, who had 17 digs and two aces. Wilcox is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

The loss snapped Buffalo's winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 14-24-2 record. As for Charleston Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-9-1 record this season.
