Red Mountain entered their tilt with Dobson on Monday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Mustangs a 16-0 shutout. That looming 16-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mountain Lions yet this season.

Kendall Cochran was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Nina Montenegro was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Payton Westra, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.

Red Mountain's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Dobson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Red Mountain will head out to take on Skyline at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dobson, they will venture away from home to square off against Williams Field at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
