Volleyball Recap: Beecher Falls Despite Big Games from Emily Avelar and Elena Kvasnicka

It was a good run, but Beecher unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Prairie Central Hawks by a score of 2-1.

Elena Kvasnicka and Emily Avelar certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Kvasnicka had 14 digs, 13 kills, and two blocks, while Avelar had 12 digs, seven kills, and two aces. Kvasnicka is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had seven or more in each of the last 18 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Pattenaude, who had 13 assists and five digs.

Beecher's defeat dropped their record down to 17-13. As for Prairie Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-13.

Beecher wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Joliet Central on the 18th. As for Prairie Central, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Bradley-Bourbonnais on the 18th.
