Volleyball Recap: Corona Panthers vs. Monrovia Wildcats

With a playoff game on the line, Corona rose to the challenge on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Monrovia Wildcats as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-13, 25-19.

Leading Corona to victory were Brianna Reyna and Norah Harr. Reyna had 11 digs and two aces, while Harr had six digs.

Corona was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September.

Corona's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 20-14. As for Monrovia, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-14.

Corona will challenge Faith Baptist at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Faith Baptist is coming into the contest with three straight victories on the road, so Corona will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. Monrovia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
