Basketball Recap: Florence Christian Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Florence Christian duked it out withPee Dee Academy on Tuesday. The game between the Florence Christian Eagles and the Pee Dee Academy Golden Eagles didn't end well, with the Florence Christian Eagles falling 64-49. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-46 on January 10th.

Despite the loss, Florence Christian still got an impressive performance from Taylor Greene, who went 8 for 20 on his way to 22 points and five assists. Greene's evening made it 14 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Berry, who posted nine points and eight boards.

Florence Christian's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Pee Dee Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Florence Christian will venture away from home to challenge Dillon Christian at 8:00 p.m. on February 4th. As for Pee Dee Academy, they will host Christian Academy at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Christian Academy sitting on seven straight victories and Pee Dee Academy on three.
