Softball Recap: Lower Lake Comes Up Short

Lower Lake lost to St. Helena back in March and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Trojans fell 10-5 to the Saints.

Eden Sparks and Hailee McRae did some serious damage despite the final result: Sparks went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while McRae went 2-for-3 with one home run. Sparks is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jamiya Lee-Ayers, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Lower Lake's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for St. Helena, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lower Lake will face off against Upper Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for St. Helena, they will square off against Middletown at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
