Soccer Game Preview: Shawnee vs. Ottoville

The Shawnee Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Ottoville Big Green at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Shawnee had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the four-goal drubbing they dealt Ottawa-Glandorf on Thursday. The Indians were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over the Titans. Shawnee haven't had any issues with Ottawa-Glandorf recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Ottoville got the win against Fort Jennings on Tuesday by a conclusive 5-2. Considering Ottoville have won seven contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ottoville's win bumped their record up to 12-2-2. As for Shawnee, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5-2.

Shawnee beat Ottoville 2-0 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
