Basketball Recap: Linfield Christian Comes Up Short

Linfield Christian lost against Murrieta Valley back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Linfield Christian Lions were beaten by the Murrieta Valley Nighthawks 72-45. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Murrieta Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaizahn Lewis, who went 7 for 10 on his way to 19 points. Lewis' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Justin Lara was another key player, going 5 for 7 on his way to 10 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Linfield Christian now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Murrieta Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Linfield Christian will venture away from home to take on Chaminade at 1:10 p.m. on Thursday. As for Murrieta Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 87-64 defeat against Santa Margarita on the 21st.
