Baseball Recap: Hoke County Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Hoke County had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Pine Forest Trojans with a sharp 14-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Bucks, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Gabriel Allen was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. He has become a key player for Hoke County: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of James Tatum, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Hoke County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pine Forest only posted an OBP of .333.

Hoke County now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Pine Forest, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Hoke County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Richmond Senior at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. As for Pine Forest, they will challenge Village Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
