Basketball Recap: Destiny Edwards' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Woodville-Tompkins over St. Vincent's

Woodville-Tompkins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 57-46 to the St. Vincent's Saints. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-39 back in December of 2024.

Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Destiny Edwards, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Cassidy Freeman, who went 8 of 17 to rack up 17 points.

Woodville-Tompkins' loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for St. Vincent's, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Woodville-Tompkins wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 57-41 win against Savannah Christian on the 4th. As for St. Vincent's, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-36 victory against Toombs County on the 4th.
