Basketball Game Preview: Channel Islands Raiders vs. Malibu Sharks

Channel Islands is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will be playing at home against the Malibu Sharks at 7:00 p.m. Channel Islands is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Channel Islands didn't have quite enough to beat Royal and fell 50-48. That's two games in a row now that the Raiders have lost by exactly two points.

Despite the loss, Channel Islands got top-tier performance from Rajai Moody, who dropped a double-double with 29 points and 18 boards. Another player making a difference was Zach Chaney, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Malibu sidestepped Newbury Park for a 67-64 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sharks.

Malibu's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Channel Islands, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Everything came up roses for Channel Islands against Malibu in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured an 87-49 win. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Sharks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
