Baseball Recap: Scarsdale Comes Up Short

Scarsdale dropped their record down to 3-2 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the John Jay Patriots, falling 12-1. The Raiders were not able to make up for their loss to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for John Jay, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 8-0. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For John Jay's part, Landon Seipp looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Alex Jendras was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-2. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Vinny Angioletti also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Looking ahead, Scarsdale will be playing at home against Blind Brook at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raiders are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for John Jay, they will take on Beacon at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
