Basketball Game Preview: West Allis Central Bulldogs vs. New Berlin West Vikings

The West Allis Central Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the New Berlin West Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with West Allis Central sitting on eight straight victories and New Berlin West on five.

West Allis Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Pius XI Catholic to the tune of 103-68 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, New Berlin West didn't have too much trouble with New Berlin Eisenhower on Tuesday as they won 67-50. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Lions are ranked 200th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

New Berlin West pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.5 points per game. As for West Allis Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

West Allis Central beat New Berlin West 72-62 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Allis Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
