Basketball Game Preview: Glen Iris Baptist Swordsmen vs. Trinity Christian Tigers

Glen Iris Baptist is 6-0 against Trinity Christian since November of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Glen Iris Baptist Swordsmen will welcome the Trinity Christian Tigers at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Glen Iris Baptist's favor as the team sits on ten straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Trinity Christian has been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Last Friday, Glen Iris Baptist didn't have too much trouble with First Assembly Christian as they won 48-31. Given the Swordsmen's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Lions are ranked 454th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Glen Iris Baptist found their leader in sophomore Elliot Dickey, who posted 19 points and eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dickey has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Joshua Everett, who put up five points and five assists.

Meanwhile, Trinity Christian had to endure a seven-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 51-39 win over First Assembly Christian last Tuesday. The Tigers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Trinity Christian's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Glen Iris Baptist, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.

Everything came up roses for Glen Iris Baptist against Trinity Christian in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 52-23 victory. In that contest, Glen Iris Baptist amassed a halftime lead of 38-11, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
