Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Cox Mill

Cox Mill won the last time they faced South Iredell, and Madison Alexander did her part to make sure it happened again. The Cox Mill Chargers took down the South Iredell Vikings 46-27 on Monday thanks to Alexander, who went 8-for-11 on her way to 18 points and four steals. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.

Lauren Farrell was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and 11 boards. She has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 17 times she's played.

The victory made it two in a row for Cox Mill and bumps their season record up to 11-14. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 7-18 South Iredell and 7-17 South Iredell. As for South Iredell, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season.

Cox Mill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 77-40 loss against Hickory Ridge on the 18th. South Iredell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
