Soccer Recap: Smith County Comes Up Short at Home Against Friendship Christian

Smith County unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Friendship Christian Commanders by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Owls couldn't quite close it out.

Gavin Kemp and Jarrain Smith scored both of Smith County's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

The win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Smith County will be playing at home against Livingston Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Friendship Christian, they will venture away from home to square off against Middle Tennessee Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Friendship Christian's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
