Baseball Recap: West Caldwell Comes Up Short

West Caldwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Bunker Hill Bears, falling 13-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 on March 7th.

Joshton Blankenship made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

West Caldwell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Bunker Hill, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Caldwell will face off against North Wilkes at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. North Wilkes has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.58 runs per game on average), something West Caldwell will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bunker Hill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
