Basketball Game Preview: South Shore International Tars vs. Roosevelt Rough Riders

The South Shore International Tars are taking a road trip to square off against the Roosevelt Rough Riders at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, South Shore International came up short against Morgan Park and fell 59-46. While losing is never fun, the Tars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 655th, while the Mustangs are ranked 270th).

Meanwhile, Roosevelt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 37-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chicago Academy.

Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for South Shore International, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-15.

South Shore International couldn't quite finish off Roosevelt in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 and fell 43-40. Thankfully for South Shore International, Christopher Franchi (who posted 28 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
